ALSO Executive Director Lori Crowder Honored with 2026 Spirit of Hope Award
Alliance of Local Service Organizations (ALSO) is proud to celebrate Executive Director Lori Crowder, who has been selected to receive the 2026 Spirit of Hope Award from Association House of Chicago. The award was presented at the organization’s annual Faces of Hope Gala on June 11, recognizing individuals whose leadership reflects the vision of Association House founder Ellen Holt—to provide guidance and opportunity “so that each shall feel the power of a better life.”
Lori was recognized for her exceptional leadership in advancing community safety and healing throughout Chicago. As Executive Director of ALSO and a key leader in the Scaling Community Violence Intervention for a Safer Chicago (SC2) initiative, she has helped shape collaborative, community-centered strategies that address the root causes of violence while strengthening neighborhoods most impacted by trauma. Her commitment to partnership, innovation, and equity has brought together community organizations, public agencies, and local leaders to create meaningful opportunities for safety, healing, and hope.
Throughout her career, Lori has been a trusted mentor and advocate, empowering organizations and community leaders to build stronger systems of support for individuals and families affected by violence. Under her leadership, ALSO has expanded its impact by addressing the intersections of community violence and domestic violence through survivor-centered services, prevention initiatives, and cross-sector collaboration.
The Faces of Hope Gala brings together civic, business, and nonprofit leaders to celebrate individuals whose work has transformed lives across Chicago. Association House recognized Lori for the positive impact her leadership has had on thousands of individuals and families and for her unwavering commitment to creating safer, healthier communities.
