Declining Gun Violence and the Continued Work of CVI

ALSO Executive Director, Lori Crowder, co-authored a commentary in Crain’s Chicago Business with Yolanda Fields, Executive Director of Breakthrough Urban Ministries in East Garfield Park. The commentary, titled “Chicago gun violence is trending down, but CVI work and funding must continue”. Chicago is currently experiencing a historic drop in gun violence. There has been a steady decline in the last four years and a historic low since 1965. Lori Crowder and Yolanda Fields discuss the continued need for Community Violence Intervention (CVI) and how it has positively effected communities in Chicago’s North and Westsides.
