Local Roots, National Reach
ALSO is a Chicago-rooted anti-violence organization with a footprint that spans all 56 U.S. states and territories. At present, ALSO provides direct services, training, and technical assistance, and systems-level advocacy to address both gender-based violence and community violence, with a special focus on addressing its interconnectedness in the context of the needs of Chicago’s most historically underserved and under-resourced communities it serves.

- Over 66,000 hours on mentoring and supporting in-risk community members
- Over 150 participants have been supported with employment opportunities
- Over 2,100 case management sessions with participants
- Over 230 domestic violence survivors served
- Over 120 instances of crisis intervention for domestic violence survivors in immediate danger.
- More than 86 referrals to partnering victim service providers for coordinated, wraparound support.
- More than 400 instances of economic assistance, including basic needs such as groceries and personal supplies, transportation, and emergency housing.

ALSO provides training and technical assistance for Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) STOP grantees in all 56 U.S. states and territories as well OVW Underserved grantees in 21 states and Puerto Rico.
