Enlace Comunitario (EC) has an innovative program designed to engage Latino immigrant men as grassroots violence prevention leaders. EC, in partnership with other local organizations, offers a culturally specific Latino domestic violence prevention program focusingon adult men in central New Mexico. The target population for the program is Spanish-speaking, immigrant adult men of all ages. Using a culturally specific leadership development curriculum, EC recruits and trains annually a group of 8-12 Latino immigrant men who previously completed EC Violence Prevention Classes (Entre Amigos/Amongst Friends) to become male promotores (Violence Prevention Leaders). Through this webinar, we will share how Enlace Comunitario engages Latino immigrant men as promotores and advance the conversation about the importance of engaging and working with Spanish-speaking men as allies to prevent family violence amongst the Latn@s in the United States.
