WEBINAR: Collaborating with Community Based Organizations & Faith Based Organizations to Address Human Trafficking

Community and faith-based organizations have historically played a key role in raising awareness, mobilizing the public, and creating political will among policy-makers to take action on important social issues such as human trafficking. 

OVW and Futures without Violence present this webinar, which will address key strategies and recommendations on effective collaboration with community based organizations and faith based communities to address human trafficking. Presenters will also share their experiences, lessons learned, and promising practices.

This webinar is for domestic violence/sexual assault program staff, attorneys, law enforcement, human trafficking taskforce members, and immigrant community service providers.

Presenters: 
Kiricka Yarbough Smith has years of experience providing training and technical assistance to service providers as well as resources and referrals to survivors of human trafficking. Kiricka managed the human trafficking program for the NC Coalition Against Sexual Assault for six years. She is the Chair of The NC Coalition Against Human Trafficking, a member of Partners Against the Trafficking of Humans, and also serves as the Human Trafficking Project Administrator for the NC Council for Women.

Perla P. Flores, MA, is the Director of the domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking programs at Community Solutions, a non-profit human services agency serving South Santa Clara County and San Benito County in California. Perla is a commissioner on the Santa Clara County Domestic Violence Council and she chairs the South Bay Coalition to End Human Trafficking.
