ALSO's Direct Services
ALSO believes violence affects all of us – no one is free from the threat or act of violence until we all are free from the threat or act of violence. Through direct and indirect intervention and prevention strategies and services, ALSO aims to strengthen communities and protect individuals and families from violence.
ALSO’s direct service programs offer tailored solutions to Chicago’s northwest side. Through an innovative and community-centric approach, our direct services target the intersections of reducing street and intimate-partner violence.
Some direct services that ALSO provides include: street outreach and case management, street violence intervention, re-entry and employment services, domestic violence legal services, domestic violence intervention and case management.

Domestic Violence Legal Assistance

Employees, volunteers, or individuals receiving services from ALSO who believe that they have encountered discrimination may file a complaint with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA), the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR), the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) (for employees), and the U.S. Department of Justice Office for Civil Rights (OCR). ICJIA complaint forms can be found at ICJIA's website or by contacting the ICJIA’s Civil Rights Officer at 312-793-8550.
