Kid’s Club/Mom’s Empowerment Training
Difficulty concentrating, higher rates of chronic illness, and trouble forming healthy emotional attachments are only a few obstacles faced by children and youth who are directly or indirectly exposed to Intimate Partner Violence. While many professionals and concerned community members are aware of these harmful outcomes, many struggle to develop appropriate responses. Kids’ Club and The Mom’s Empowerment Programs are time-tested, evaluated programs demonstrating improved outcomes for kids (ages 5 and up) and their non-abusing caregivers. Please join us for a 2-day free training lead by the programs’ developer and experienced practitioner, Dr. Sandra Graham-Bermann.
Enrollment is open to all but space is limited and priority is given to Office On Violence Against Women Grantees, their community partners, and other federally funded programs. Pre-register here or contact us for more details - email: alsocevta@also-chicago.org or call: Nancy Cline 917-447-3062; LaTanya Lane 773.235.5705 ext. 31.
While there is no fee to attend, participating agencies must agree to purchase and review a $600 training DVD containing 6, 1-hour PowerPoint sessions outlining both Kids’ Club and the Mom’s Empowerment program as a pre-requisite to this in-person training course. Download an order form or contact us for details.
