2018 Underserved Fall Institute
October 9th - October 11th, 2018
Chicago, Illinois

This two-and-a-half-day Institute for 2016 and 2017 Underserved Grantees will provide participants with relevant content pertinent to the OVW Underserved Grant Program. This year’s Institute will provide in-depth and hands-on skills building and knowledge sharing based on ALSO’s Underserved TA project foundations (intersectionality, trust building, engaging communities, peer to peer learning and trauma informed practices) within two grant core areas: providing services and outreach. The Institute is designed to support the cross pollination of ideas between grantee cohorts through large and small group discussions on various topics including how to create an outreach plan, considerations for outreach to vulnerable populations, organizational sustainability and using program successes to inform program development for underserved communities impacted by sexual violence, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. Throughout the training, grantees will have several opportunities to think about how the information shared can contribute to further implementation of their programming.

DATES:  Tuesday, October 9th – Thursday, October 11th, 2018

LOCATION: Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 E. Upper Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Up to two people from each organization may attend and each person should complete their own registration. The focus of this in-person Institute will be outreach and services, so please take this into consideration when determining who from your organization will be attending.
