Safety Net Works Logan Square Youth Leadership Council Meetings

The Safety Net Works is a collaborative effort designed to bring local and state resources together to help youth and young adults living in Logan Square enhance their positive development into a healthy and productive adulthood.

ALSO directly services youth leadership through the Local Youth Leadership Council (LYLC). The young adults are given the opportunity to share in open discussions, while learning leadership skills. LYLC will implement a violence prevention project and a safety zone map in Logan Square. The local council has the opportunity to invite guest speakers and share in open discussions. Past speakers include “Linda Coronado”, a community leader and “Jaslene Gonzalez”, winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 8.

Future events for the LYLC include a monthly open mic, attendance at a leadership conference and a youth community forum. The council continues to recruit and collaborate with local youth in Logan Square.

If you are interested or know of youth from the age of 17-22 years old you can contact David Bustos at 773.235.5705 or visit our website at www.also-chicago.org.

LYLC Meetings will meet Saturdays 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
