Through deep data analysis, ALSO's community violence interrupters and outreach workers learned that much of the violence deemed "gang-related" by law enforcement initially stems from conflict between intimate partners. This discovery affirms the importance of our work at the intersections of violence and has strong implications for how we intervene in and prevent both community and intimate partner conflicts.
