Maribel Romero, ALSO staff person experienced in community violence intervention and re-entry services for formerly incarcerated individuals, and Stephanie Hausen, ALSO Intern and MSW Candidate at the Jane Addams School of Social Work (UIC), recently contributed to a Ms. Magazine blog post on female membership in gangs, particularly concerning young girls and women who are also victims of physical and sexual violence. In the blog, Romero and Hausen demonstrate their knowledge of and sensitivity for Chicago girls and women involved in gang violence.
