Safety Net Works is funded by:

Illinois Violence Prevention Authority

ALSO is the lead agency for the Safety Net Works collaboration in Logan Square.  Safety Net Works brings local and state resources together to help youth and young adults living in Logan Square to enhance their positive development into a healthy and productive adulthood.

The Safety Networks Program has four components:

Case Management - Association House
The Association House provides comprehensive and culturally competent case management service for youth and their families residing in Logan Square. The Association House fosters and promotes youth development through academic enrichment and support, violence prevention, life skills training, arts education, recreational activities, leadership development, coalition building and parental involvement. The Association House will be servicing the case management component of the Safety Net Works program.

Youth Development - The Miracle Center
The Miracle Center offers a comprehensive multi-disciplinary after-school and out of school program in the Logan Square, Hermosa and Belmont-Cragin community service area to youth living in low-income households. The Miracle Center will implement the youth development component of the Safety Net Works program. The Miracle Center’s after-school and out of school program scope is based on providing the following components: Tutoring, Sports, Arts and Crafts, team Building, Dance, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, mentoring, Service Learning and community Involvement.

Coalition Building
Bulding a strong coalition is essential to implementing a coordinated effort to support young people.  ALSO hosts an open monthly Logan Square Safety Committee to help facilitate collaboration, information sharing, strategy development and review of services.  Please check the calendar on ALSO's homepage for the upcoming Logan Square Safety Committee Meeting.

Youth Leadership
The Safety Net Works program will also have a focus on Youth Leadership.  Young people will create a local youth council, develop safety initiatives and implement them as a team.  Youth ages 16 and above are invited to join the council.  The Youth Leadership Council members will meet on a monthly basis and be the catalyst for a variety of youth led safety initiatives.
